Public Lecture Series: Are Soundwaves the Next Big Cancer Breakthrough?
Histotripsy is a promising new cancer treatment that uses soundwaves to disrupt tumors. Van Andel Institute and University of Michigan Health-West’s Dr. Clifford Cho will share the latest on this leading-edge therapy and highlight how the immune effects of histotripsy could improve overall cancer care.
This lecture will be offered both in-person at Van Andel Institute, as well as virtually.
Registration coming soon.
Dr. Clifford Cho is a surgeon-scientist whose pioneering discoveries have led to FDA approval of histotripsy as a cancer treatment. Histotripsy uses ultrasound waves to disrupt tumors and elicit an immune response, which helps the body better fight cancer cells. He is a professor in Van Andel Institute’s Department of Cell Biology, chief medical officer of University of Michigan Health-West and a professor at the University of Michigan.
