Kathleen Vogelsang, CFA, MBA, is Chief Investment Officer at Van Andel Institute. In this role, Vogelsang is responsible for the investment management of the Institute’s $2 billion endowment. She joined VAI in June 2005 and subsequently established the Institute’s Investment Office.
Prior to joining VAI, Vogelsang served as Vice President/Senior Portfolio Manager in the Wealth Management Group at Fifth Third Bank. She previously served as Director of Investments for JVA Enterprises, the family office of Jay and Betty Van Andel, where she developed the organization’s investment office.
She serves on the Boards of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation and Gift of Life Michigan, and is a member of the investment committees for Grand Valley State University’s Endowment Fund, the Grand Rapids Symphony, Council of Michigan Foundations, Meijer Foundation and Frey Foundation.
In 2016, Crain’s Detroit named Vogelsang one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Michigan, and in 2020, they named her one of their Notable Women in Finance in Michigan. She was also named to the Class of 2020 Influential Leaders by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Vogelsang graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Master of Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
