Thank you for your interest in Couture for a Cure. We are now sold out for this year’s event.
Carol Van Andel, Rebecca Wierda and Candace Matthews invite you to join them for the 16th annual Couture for a Cure — an evening full of fashion, fun and philanthropy in support of Van Andel Institute’s mission!
This intimate event will feature a one-of-a-kind runway fashion presentation by Leigh’s along with a special look at the Fall 2021 collection of designer Veronica Beard. Guests will be treated to a special virtual appearance by Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard, co-founders of the eponymous women’s fashion brand. Experience new products and on-trend looks from Artistry™ on the runway.
All guests will receive a swag bag of exclusive gifts, treats and Artistry products and will enjoy a seated dinner at tables along the runway. Ushers will direct guests to their assigned tables, and table service will be provided throughout the entire evening. Sponsors will receive exclusive benefits, including VIP gifts from Artistry.
You’ll also be treated to live entertainment from the fabulous AB and be able to participate in a silent auction. All proceeds benefit biomedical research and K–12 and graduate education programs at the Institute.
Suggested attire for the evening is Cocktail Attire.
VAI is continuing to monitor applicable health and safety guidelines and will update the event format if necessary. Any changes will be noted here.
Please note: Proof of vaccination will be required for those wishing to attend this event in person. Vaccination cards and photo IDs will be required for entry and checked at the door upon your arrival.
For this year’s event, we only are allowing vaccinated guests into the institute. Unfortunately, this does not include exceptions for antibodies tests or negative tests. We are still making our virtual event available as an option for those who can’t attend or don’t wish to attend in person.
Masks also will be required throughout the event and may only be removed when eating or drinking.
Our top priority is keeping our research and education initiatives going strong, and we appreciate your support in our efforts.

Veronica Beard was founded by sisters-in-law Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard. What began as a rack of dickey jackets in 2010 has now expanded into a full lifestyle collection intuitively built for real life, one that is inclusive of women everywhere and makes them feel confident every single day.
“We get it. We’re mothers, daughters, business women and wives. We’ve walked in your shoes and set out to design clothes to be loved—and lived in. But Veronica Beard is about more than the two of us. We design for you—the women who chase after their passions, who get things done and make things happen. You, and all the different ways you live your life, are what inspires us. We got you.” — Veronica & Veronica
