Rachael Sheridan, Ph.D., SCYM(ASCP)
Director, Flow Cytometry Core
Biography
Rachael Sheridan joined Van Andel Institute as director of the Flow Cytometry Core in 2016. She holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a professional cytometry certification (SCYM(ASCP)CM). She has extensive experience with experimental design, panel design and optimization, high-speed cell sorting, and training of researchers. Her commitment to training includes extensive service as an instructor in the Annual Flow Cytometry Course.
Dr. Sheridan is active in the flow cytometry community and contributes to regional and global cytometry initiatives. She is former president of the Great Lakes International Imaging and Flow Cytometry Association and currently serves on the Board of Directors. She also is a member of ABRF’s Flow Cytometry Research Group and previously served as FCRG chair. In addition to chairing the Flow Content Committee, the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry named her an SRL Emerging Leader (2020–2025).
