A Conversation About Fueling Metabolism Hosted by Carol Van Andel
When most of us hear the word “metabolism,” we immediately think of food. But metabolism is so much more than what we eat. Van Andel Institute’s Dr. Sara Nowinski will give us a crash course in how metabolism fuels our day-to-day lives, how problems with metabolism can contribute to disease and how there is more to mitochondria than what we learned in science class.
Complimentary valet parking will be available at the main VAI entrance.
About Dr. Sara Nowinski
Dr. Sara Nowinski investigates how cells determine the amount of energy needed for everyday life and how they adjust to meet those requirements. Her research has uncovered new insights into the intricate balance between nutrient availability and cellular respiration — both critical components to maintaining health.
