Microarray Technology
The Van Andel Institute Laboratory of Microarray Technology (LMT) offers several products and services for use in genomic and proteomic analysis.
The primary product employed by the LMT is the Agilent oligonucleotide microarray. Several formats of this product exist, including full genome microarrays for different species. The platform is easily customizable and highly cost effective.
CGH and miRNA arrays are now being offered by the LMT. These “newer” genomic techniques allow researchers to get an extensive view of chromosomal aberrations and gene expression regulation.
The LMT is also a high-throughput spotted microarray production facility. cDNA, oligonucleotide, and protein microarrays can be produced upon request. All products produced and service work performed by the Laboratory meets strict quality control and quality assurance criteria based on those outlined by CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments).
The Laboratory is under the direction of James Resau, Ph.D.
