At VAI’s Optical Imaging Core, Dr. Jian Wei Tay partners with researchers to maximize the utility of their microscopy data through computational analysis and advanced AI/ML methods. Dr. Tay brings a strong background in both microscopy and quantitative analysis, having recently served as the Bioimage Analysis Group Leader at the BioFrontiers Advanced Light Microscopy Core at the University of Colorado Boulder. His academic foundation includes a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in physics (specializing in quantum optics) from the University of Otago, followed by postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis developing biomedical imaging techniques using wavefront shaping and photoacoustics.
