We invite you to join us on February 22 for a Van Andel Institute Forum on Parkinson’s disease at The Gasparilla Island Inn & Club. You’ll be treated to a cocktail hour and seated dinner while hearing from VAI scientists and leaders on the latest research and breakthroughs from the Institute.
The evening will include remarks from Department of Neurodegenerative Science Assistant Professor Dr. Michael Henderson.
Event Hosts: Dave and Karen Custer
Gentlemen wear dress slacks, collared shirts and jackets for dinner. Ties are not required. Ladies’ apparel should always be comparable to the gentlemen, such as blouses, skirts or slacks. Jeans, shorts or tank tops are not permitted.
VAI is continuing to monitor applicable health and safety guidelines and will update the event format if necessary. Any changes will be noted here.
Please note: Proof of vaccination will be required for those wishing to attend this event in person. Vaccination cards and photo IDs will be required for entry and checked at the door upon your arrival. For this year’s event, we are allowing only vaccinated guests to attend VAI events. Unfortunately, this does not include exceptions for antibodies tests or negative tests.
Michael Henderson, Ph.D., investigates the causes of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s and dementia with Lewy bodies, and the factors that control disease progression. He hopes to translate his findings into new therapies that slow or stop this progression.
