Lourdes began designing beautiful clothing after her graduation from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising specializing in couture design. Lourdes was born and meant to be a designer but is equally a talented pattern maker and sewer which serves to enhance her entire process. Her career began with two prestigious houses in Los Angeles but her true talent and creativity blossomed when she opened her own house in December of 1997. Lourdes has been creating amazing designs with each collection and developing into a world class designer who has been honored and received numerous awards by the State of California, City of Hope, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and the Fashion Group International to name a few. Today, Lourdes Chavez is a multi-million dollar company with accounts at the finest specialty stores and boutiques in the nation.
Established in 1994, Christine A. Moore MIllinery is based in New York City on 34th Street between the Fashion and Accessories districts. Although Christine designs a wide range of women’s and men’s collections, she is best known for her explosive racing styles for the Kentucky Derby, two of which are in the Kentrucky Derby Museum. In 2009, she partnered with Churchill Downs and Mattel to design the official Barbie Derby hat. Her hats were used in the 2009 official Kentucky Derby poster. She has designed both the Oaks and Derby hats for Kentucky’s former first lady Jane Beshear, and Preakness hats for the past two mayors of Baltimore. Christine has been on the “Today Show” live from Churchill Downs six times, where NBC calls her the “milliner to the triple crown.” Her hats have graced many magazine covers including InStyle with Katy Perry and Vanity Fair with Jennifer Lopez, to name a few. Her hats have been on many television shows including, “Nashville,” “Gossip Girl,” “The Carrie Diaries” and “Horseplayers.”
