Inbred Strain Verification/SNP Profiling Service

SNP profiling can be used to identify the genetic background of a mouse with an unknown genetic background.  The Illumina Mouse Medium Density Linkage Panel, consisting of 1,449 SNP loci, can be used to identify genetic contributions from the top ten inbred mice strains: B6, 129, FVB, BALB, DBA, NOD, CBA, AKR, C3H, or SJL.
