Our Research
Quality Control
To access the viability of the frozen embryos, one vial from each freezing will be thawed and the embryos cultured in KSOM medium to the blastocyst stage. The number of these control embryos is 10% of the total number frozen. The successful freezing is considered when at least 80% of the thawed embryos advance to blastocyst stage. In addition, to verify the adequacy of the freezing procedure, quality of media, and potential strain specific problems, we will also cryopreserve embryos from our control strain. If requested and for additional cost we will perform in vivo quality control by implanting the thawed embryos into pseudopregnant females to produce live pups. We can also obtain for you the DNA from these mice for genotyping.
