Cryopreservation

Gestational day 0.5 embryos are harvested and cultured under mixed gas (5%O2, 5%CO2, 90%N2) in KSOM medium. On gestational day 2.5, only 8-cell stage embryos are collected and cryopreserved in vials (25-30 embryos per vial) using DMSO as the cryoprotectant. Cryopreservation is performed using controlled rate CryoMed ®Freezer by which embryos are gradually cooled to -80ºC and then transferred to liquid nitrogen tanks.
