The basic projected cost is based on the estimated number of animals and time needed to harvest and freeze sufficient number of embryos for one strain. It is based on the assumption that the investigator will provide 10 fertile homozygous males. It reflects the response to superovulation and fecundity of the embryo donor strain (in our case B6C3F1). If in the early stages of the service we find that the yield and viability of the embryos significantly deviates from our estimated cost we will contact the investigator with a revised cost and time for the service. The basic cost does not include implantation of thawed embryos into pseudopregnant females for a control or their subsequent genotyping. In the case that a strain repeatedly fails to produce sufficient number of viable embryos as a result of strain-specific issues, we will contact the investigator to discuss continuation or discontinuation of the project.

Basic estimated cost per homozygous strain (double for heterozygous strain)  $1,675.00
Live born as quality control $200.00
Shipment of vials to one location  cost
Long term storage $50.00
