The Flow Cytometry lab also provides the following blood analysis services.

Blood Chemistry

Currently our standard comprehensive profile includes ALB, ALP, ALT, AMY, BUN, Ca++, CRE, GLOB, GLU, K+, Na+, PHOS, TBIL, TP. Other profiles may be available upon special request. A sample size of 100ul of serum works best, however 100ul of whole blood may be used if a larger volume is not available. In special circumstances samples may be diluted and values calculated on a linear scale. Blood must be heparinized for blood chemistry.

Hematology

A standard hematology provides a CBC of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This includes a breakdown of Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Neutrophils, Eosinophils, Basophils, Hematocrit, Hemoglobin, Mean Corpuscular Volume, Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin, Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration, Red cell distribution width, Mean Platelet Volume, Platelet hematocrit, Platelet distribution width, and provides a RBC, WBC, and Platelet histogram. A sample size of at least 100ul is required. Samples must be treated with EDTA for hematology.
