The Small Animal Imaging Facility (SAIF) is a Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) core facility that provides multiple imaging and image analysis tools for use with biology specimens and small animals. Our instruments include digital X-ray, high-resolution micro CT, micro SPECT/CT, micro PET/CT (cooperative site), micro ultrasound, and optical imaging. SAIF is committed to developing advanced capabilities with state-of-the-art imaging modalities to fulfill the needs of the biomedical research communities of VARI and West Michigan. Our research interest focuses on the development of next-generation imaging probes for tumor detection and of imaging technologies that can offer significant anatomic and functional information to biomedical investigators in the fields of cancer, cardiovascular, neurodegenerative, and osteopathic research.
