Laboratory of Noninvasive Imaging and Radiation Biology
Scientific Overview
General Overview
Noninvasive imaging is the generation and analysis of images of structure and function in living organisms without harming the body surgically or otherwise. Radiation biology is the study of the consequences of radiation exposure in living organisms. The lab’s work is along three major themes:
- Developing laboratory models that address problems in medical imaging and radiation exposure
- Advancing the technology of imaging and radiation biology, including new agents, strategies, and instrumentation
- Pursuing interactions between the laboratory and the medical community to improve both laboratory model systems and patient care
