The Laboratory of Neuroblastoma Translational Research is committed to pushing forward cures for childhood cancers. The lab’s research focuses on the identification and exploitation of new therapies for neuroblastoma and medulloblastoma through understanding the genomic profiles and biology of these tumors. These neuronal tumors continue to be therapeutic challenges in pediatrics. The lab centers on understanding specific biological and genomic profiles of patients and using this information, through patient derived xenograft models and laboratory research, to identify and bring new therapies to children with relapsed disease to improve outcomes.
Dr. Sholler is also chair of the Neuroblastoma and Medulloblastoma Translational Research Consortium (NMTRC), a national group of over 15 universities and children’s hospitals headquartered at Van Andel Research Institute that offer a nationwide network of childhood cancer clinical trials.
