Molly’s “Thirst for a Cure” lemonade stand at the Reeds Lake Art Festival supports neuroblastoma research at Van Andel Institute in memory of a very special little girl: Molly Cavera.
Molly was full of joy and life even while courageously battling neuroblastoma for nearly three years. She was only five years old when the disease took her life in 2006. Molly was able to be at the first lemonade stand fundraiser in 2006; since then, her parents Dan and Michelle have continued the tradition in her memory.
Lemonade Stand Menu
There will be lemonade (one of Molly’s favorites), sports drinks, water, soda, popcorn, cookies, candies and lemonade popsicles for sale.
All of the products sold have been donated, so 100% of sales and donations go directly to neuroblastoma research.
About Neuroblastoma
Neuroblastoma is a particularly deadly pediatric tumor that develops from nerve tissue. The disease typically occurs in children less than 6 years of age and accounts for 15% of all pediatric cancer deaths in the United States. In most patients, the cancer has already spread when it is first diagnosed.
