Application Process

The deadline to submit applications has passed. Completed applications will be reviewed by Van Andel Research Institute (VARI) faculty. Applicants selected for interviews are generally contacted prior to late March. If additional summer opportunities become available after this time, your application may be reconsidered.

Applicants selected for interviews will need to complete a standard VAI employment application. Applicants will receive the employment application if interviewed on-site at VAI or via U.S. postal service if interviewed by phone. Applicants are encouraged to complete the employment application as soon as possible and return it to VAI’s Human Resources Department . 

Applicants selected to fill student positions will be extended a formal offer of employment by the Human Resources Department contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
