The Renovation
Crescent Park overlooks downtown Grand Rapids from an eastern bluff in the heart of the city’s Medical Mile between Van Andel Institute, Spectrum Health, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital and Grand Rapids Community College. (map 
) Friends of Crescent Park is a nonprofit organization that was created to renovate the park and transform it into a quiet green space that celebrates survivors of cancer and other diseases who have found hope in the medical and research facilities that surround the park.

Improvements to the park include:
- A new plaza with a lookout and terraces
- Replacing the park's steep concrete staircase with one that winds more gradually down the hill from Bostwick Avenue to Crescent Street
- A snowmelt system for the stairway
- Installation of artwork and new benches and picnic tables
- Re-landscaping and replacing several trees that have died in recent years
Engraving Options
There are several elements available to engrave. The words are up to you: a name, an organization, a message to inspire or commemorate…the possibilities are endless. Your gift will help transform Crescent Park into a space where friends, families, patients, doctors, researchers, and students can gather to celebrate triumphs and reflect on challenges.
