Out-of-School-Time Cohort Program

Goals  |  Program Details  |  Application Process

The Academy’s inaugural program brings together a diverse group of fourth and fifth grade children from the Grand Rapids area to grow the scientists of tomorrow. These students stay together for three consecutive years in summer or after-school sessions, learning to think and act like scientists. They ask the questions, and then use critical thinking and age-appropriate investigations to find the answers. Not only do these students learn science – they apply it and begin to understand what a career in science might be like.

The deadline for applying for the VAEI Science Academy 2012 Spring Out-of-School-Time Elementary Cohort Program has passed. All applicants were sent a letter regarding the results of the selection process.
